Good morning brother,
Day one: Moving forward without God anyway. 1 Kings 22:29-34
You will destroy your life if, when you hear the word of the Lord, you go forward with your plans. Ahab pretends that he has heard what God says and then goes forward with his own plans. All he wanted was God to validate what he was going to do anyway. But Ahab believes he can get around what God has said. People try to set us for failure and end up falling in the pit they made for others.
Thoughts: Why do we blame God for our own selfishness and pride? Is it the devils fault always our should be take accountability for our actions? Why does God want obedience more than sacrifice? He is trying to protect us from sin and destruction.
We can do nothing without Jesus.
Even in our disobedience if we have repentance God can help.
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
Only what you do for Jesus Christ will last.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
Psalms 100:5
Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.”
Proverbs 26:5
A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:2
A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?”
Proverbs 20:24
Fruit comes from faithfulness to God.
The fruit is faithfulness.
But that’s the way sin is. It makes great promises, but never tells you about the drawbacks. Sin is like those medication commercials you see on television. The thirty second commercial spends two seconds telling you what benefit this new miracle drug will have for you, and then the next twenty-eight seconds explaining all the negative side effects including death, diarrhea, vomiting, heart attack, and grass growing out of your ears. The only difference between these commercials and sin, is that sin never tells you what the negative side effects are until after you’ve committed the sin. Then it says, “Oh yeah, here’s the fine print I forgot to tell you about. You got what you wanted, but your life is now going to be miserable. Enjoy!
Is success measured by victory of faithfulness.
God says chose life. Choose obedience.
A faithful man will abound in blessings. A good tree has fruit for others to eat.
Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. Matthew 12:33
My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.”
Proverbs 8:19
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
But Micaiah is not done. He goes on to explain that it is the will of the Lord for Ahab to be destroyed. His time has come and the way it is going to happen is by having these prophets telling him that he will succeed in this battle when he is actually going to die in the battle. Zedekiah strikes Micaiah in the cheek over this, asking how Micaiah has the Spirit of the Lord with a different message than him? Micaiah simply says that you will see soon enough. Now consider what Ahab does. He orders for Micaiah to be put in prison with meager rations until he comes back in peace. Micaiah responds that if Ahab comes back in peace, then the Lord has not spoken by me. But Ahab knows that God has spoken through Micaiah. He knows that he is a true prophet of the Lord. But he does not listen. He knows that what Micaiah is saying is right. But he is not going to listen.
Thank you for another great day of Zoom Battle Prayer.
