Great Morning Mighty Men of GOD!!! 🙌🏿
Day three: Faith means perseverance. Recognizing the larger story of redemption. The Battle of Jericho was not a one-day affair. Israel was instructed to march around the city for seven days. Furthermore, on the seventh day, Israel had to walk around the city seven times. Again, and again, and again, Israel journeyed around the city trusting that, eventually, God would bring the walls down. Israel had to persevere. The same is true in our lives. Thoughts: We are called to persevere even when we don't see the walls against falling down. To grow in faith in God and join in his Gospel story not just to save you but the whole world.
When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.” Joshua 6:20-21
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
1 Timothy 6:11-12
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:3-4
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5-8
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:19
“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”
Psalms 18:30
Faithful endurance. One of our core attributes of faith is too persevere
Delayed gratification. We want that jolly rancher feeling. We want minimal effort with full reward.
We need radical change with full sold out repentance!
We need to grow in God's plan. Slowly over time we can envision how we can plug in and be used by God.
God grows things in his time.
Patience is to be constantly the same and persevere. Praying in the Spirit constantly.
When we endure for the LORD things have so much more meaning.
Jericho means city of the moon. Or a pleasing fragrance. The city worshiped the moon.
Joshua put a curse over it for city never to be rebuilt.
Victory has a sound! Words have power. Shout unto LORD.
Thank you for another great day and week of Zoom Battle Prayer.
