If you are neglecting your God given duties you are destroying your house with your own two hands. It is like a lazy man that ignores the repair of his roof. There are beams in that house that support the roof. But the roof will fall in if rain starts to come into the house. Through Christ we need to be a covering over our families from the evil in the world. If not, trials and tribulations will take down your beams of faith and ruin your whole house.
