Oh To Be Wise Meditations

There is a necessity to preach the word. Who will tell wicked person to change their ways? Who will teach the foolish the ways of godly wisdom? Who will call out to those in captivity of sin and death? People perish where there is no word of God. Preach the word in and out of season. When Christ Jesus comes as king, he will be the judge of everyone, whether they are living or dead. So with God and Christ as witnesses, we must preach God's message. We must do it willingly, even if it isn't the popular thing to do. We must correct people and point out their sins. But also cheer them up, and when you instruct them, always be patient. The time has come when people won't listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear. They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories. We must stay calm and be willing to suffer. Working hard, telling the good news of Christ to a dying world. The Holy Spirit has been poured out and the fields are ripe for harvest. Our lives are like a drink offering being poured out on the altar. Planting and watering seeds dying to self, so that much more fruit can be produced. Lord, use me to preach your word so that people can know the power of your love.
