Proverbs of a 37 yr old man

Jesus has given us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind, which is the Spirit of Christ in us and through us. Yes, He is wanting to go deeper into our lives, deeper into our hearts and minds. If He was to prick our hearts would we bleed? Or have we become hardened in our hearts like the stone idols of this world? A superficial cut to behavior will not do. A mere wound to the spiritual flesh will heal up quickly through selfish works, not enough exposure to the healing salve of relationship with Christ. There needs to be a strike that draws blood. A true circumcision that happens deep in your heart and not just something done to your body. A tear big enough in ones mind and heart to realize you need God for every area of your life. Jesus was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace, and we received healing from his wounds. Key word there is receive healing. Healing from our past mistakes, healing from the trauma our sins have caused, and healing from what sin has done to our heart. Only God is good, and we are far from perfect. Jesus has done away with legal perfection, He was perfect in every way and never sinned. What God is wanting to do now is not make bad people good, but make dead people live! We are free from the law of sin and death. We have died to that which once held us prisoners. No longer do we serve in the old way of a written law, but in the new way of the Spirit. For though the LORD wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal. Again, Jesus has given us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Let Him do his work in you today.
