Oh To Be Wise Meditations

My identity is not in my old life but in the new creation God is doing in me. No matter what creeps up from the past it must submit to the new person and character in Christ. For the love of Christ compels me, and I have reached this conclusion: If one died for all, then all died. And Christ did die for all of us. He died so we would no longer live for ourselves, but for the one who died and was raised to life for us. So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. LORD, my identity is in you no matter what society, friends or loved ones think of me. I am safe in your name. Keep me away from an identity crisis in my life, I cannot please people with perfection. But I know if I keep pursuing relationship with you Jesus, you are making me a better person that's growing in pure righteousness. I am becoming more like you everyday and less like the world and its desires that are perishing. My trust is in your redemptive power over the sin and flesh. I am new creation even if I am not to perfection yet. I must keep my eyes on Christ for he is the author and finisher of my faith. Meditate Romans 8:29 https://biblehub.com/romans/8-29.htm
