Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Eternal life is the life that comes from God Himself. Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. And this is the way to have eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. Even before the world began, God promised eternal life. Christians can trust God's promise completely. We can actually have eternal life here on earth now. Before the creation of the world, he chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in his presence. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. The sins of Adam and Eve would not doom the entire human race. The penalty for sin is death and Jesus swallowed that on the Cross. Removing the taste and sting of eternal death forevermore. Jesus overcame sin with his death and resurrection. So God calls us to overcome sin and death in the same way. Consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him. Consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. This is eternal life, the newness of life to experience right now in the land of living. Live forever oh Christian! Everyone living and believing in Jesus shall never die, to the age. Do you believe this?
