Oh To Be Wise Meditations

When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Gen. 32:25 Gods Spirit cannot strive with humanity. It is evil and desperately wicked. This is why the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit had to come and overpower the sinful spirit of man. Without the Gospel message there would be no victory over sin. There would be no gift of faith, hope and love. It is the Cross that gives power to believers to be overcomed by the power of God's love. Without Christ we will not overcome this life. Without Jesus presence in us we will be overpowered by sin instead of Holy Spirit. We need Holy Spirit to overpower us, and not just move a socket out of place, we need a total face plant and pinning down to the humble grace of God. I dare you to move!
