Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Spiritually discern this:

I am looking at a lifeless body of faith. I poke it with a stick and get no response. There is no good works being produced. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. Compare faith to the body and works to the spirit. The body is dead if it has no spirit. A faith that is not supported by works is just as dead.

Faith that has not in itself the desire to meet the needs of other people is not real faith. Faith that lives will do good works. It always has works and it cannot exist without them. Asking God to stir good works in us produced by a growing relationship with Christ. The skeleton of scripture comes to life in the person of Jesus Christ our LORD. He lives in us, lets do the good works that he has called us to do since before the world began.
