Oh To Be Wise Meditations
"'Go to this people and say, "You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving." For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’ So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it.” Its amazing how Israel could not accept the message of the Gospel. But it is something that many people find hard to believe. And understandable so, anything you can't prove in the flesh, how can you even begin to explain in the spirit. Jesus once said, Do not think that I came to bring peace to the earth; I came not to bring peace, but a sword. This is why he spoke many times in parables: 'Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.' There is something about learning from Holy Spirit than from the flesh of man. We are not like Moses, who had to put a veil over his face so that the people of Israel would not see the brightness fade and disappear. The people were stubborn, and something still keeps them from seeing the truth when the Law is read. Only Christ can take away the covering that keeps them from seeing. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. All of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. So our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord's Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. In order to see and hear the Gospel of Jesus you must repent and believe. That small seed of belief turns into a tree of rooted faith. In the Lords time precious fruit will grow in your life and God will be more real to you than the hair on your skin. Believe and you will see. Trust and you will hear the sound of heaven touching earth.
