Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Walk the line. I finally think I understand a word that was spoken over me by a pastor many years ago. He told me to walk the line and I had gotten so many different thoughts on that. Today, I am giving an encouraging word to someone and it spoke to me again. I need to walk the line and not try to skip ahead like Israel in the wilderness. They doubted God and his purposes and they began to wander in there hearts far from Him, and it showed on there physical journey. What should have taken a shorter amount of time they ended up being in the wilderness for 40 years. A generation of doubt and fear kept people from the promised land. God has so much for us if only we would walk the line set before us. Walk by faith the life Christ died for us to live in! So many of us wander in unbelief for so many years because we are unwilling to take what God has provided for us in the Gospel. Instead of walking the line, walking the straight, we take the crooked path. Praise God though that if we have been taken off course by sin and circumstances we have allowed, the LORD is still with us and guiding us in hopes that we would trust in Him. Listen what He spoke to Israel in the wilderness and receive it for yourself where ever you are at this time: Indeed, the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing. For forty years I led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out. You ate no bread and drank no wine or other alcoholic drink, but he provided for you so you would know that he is the LORD your God. He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Walk the line. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Don't try to go for the easy way out. Suffer for the cause of the Gospel and find your glory in Jesus. It will be so much more sweeter entering the land God has for us filled with milk and honey.
