Oh To Be Wise Meditations
You wash your hands for cleanliness. To keep bacteria from building up in you causing you sickness. So many people neglect doing this but its very important to your physical health. Washing and keeping clean protects us from sickness and even death. Is it not the same for our spiritual health? So many people wash their hearts when they want to and wonder why sin and death is destroying their lives. We need to be washed in the word daily. Watered in our spirit by Holy Spirit so we can be filtered out and cleansed out from sin in our hearts. If you are a human being on this earth you are constantly in sin whether by accident or willful sin. By Gods grace we are able to live productive lives and not be constantly dominated by sin. Actually living a holy life the way God is Holy. Jesus calls us to sin no more before something worse happens to us. We have the power of the blood of Christ that washes away all our sins. We must practice righteousness as if it were for cleanliness. A perfection of the soul that only God can do in Christ for sinners like you and me. Who may ascend to the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob. Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. He made the church holy by the power of his word, and he made it pure by washing it with water. Next time you wash your hands let it be a reminder to wash your hearts with the Living Word of God!
