Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold. Those who acquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of his right! Therefore, just as fire licks up stubble and dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will rot and their flowers wither. For they have rejected the law of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies; they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad. Until each person get to this point in there heart there is no real repentance: Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. We must realize our need for God and our debased nature of sin. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
