Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Once I was enamored by the ugliness of sin. Now I am drawn to the beauty of my Savior. He is the Promised One, the Messiah who came to suffer for the sins of the world. You, O LORD, reign forever; Your throne endures from generation to generation. The LORD, the Mighty One, is God, and he has spoken; he has summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where it sets. From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines in glorious radiance. Our God approaches, and he is not silent. Fire devours everything in his way, and a great storm rages around him. He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people: Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Jesus, I come before in the presence of all your witnesses offering my life as a living sacrifice. What good is a dead carcass to you? You spilt your Holy Blood for me so that I would live my life for you! I am no longer to stay dead in my sins but to be awaken to the life you have shed for me. For I have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. I have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. I have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. I have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. Yes, I have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.
