Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He continue to defer their help? Is His loving devotion gone forever? Has His promise failed for all time? Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him. The wicked will not prosper, for they do not fear God. Their days will never grow long like the evening shadows. In this life, good people are often treated as though they were wicked, and wicked people are often treated as though they were good. The Lord isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost. The LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
