Oh To Be Wise Meditations

God always leads us to the Cross. Any difficulty, disagreement, or argument God in Christ leads us to the Cross. Any unforgiveness or animosity towards someone, direct it to the Cross. For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death. The Cross is the answer God gives us even for the harshest and most difficult trial. These things are hard to understand. Jesus reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Like Job said, I know my Redeemer lives! The Cross of Jesus is the only way to truth and eternal life. May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
