Oh To Be Wise Meditations

The greatest power is love. Not the love of the world that is fickle and changes in all kinds of circumstances. But the pure love of God in Christ displayed on the Cross. On the Cross was an example of pure love that set a higher standard of what love should truly be. The perfect life of Jesus was poured out on the Cross showing us that love is patient and love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Beloved, we should love one another, because love is from God; and everyone loving has been born from God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. Real love isn't our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. Yes, LORD Jesus we need your love perfected in us.
