The more you have, the more you want. People have a constant desire to possess more. Maybe the less we have, the more we will realize we don't need. Don't be greedy! Owning a lot of things won't make your life safe. Don't put your trust in violence; don't hope to gain anything by robbery; even if your riches increase, don't depend on them. Listen, no matter who you are, rich or poor. Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when I am surrounded by vicious enemies? They trust in their riches and brag about all their wealth. You cannot buy back your life or pay off God! It costs far too much to buy back your life. You can never pay God enough to stay alive forever and safe from death. When you become successful, don't say, "I'm rich, and I've earned it all myself. Instead, remember that the LORD your God gives you the strength to make a living. God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. The more you have of Jesus, the more you want. He made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. For his wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with Him. Riches and honor with Him, enduring wealth and righteousness. His fruit is better than fine gold; what He yields surpasses choice silver. Jesus walks in righteousness and in paths of justice. Those who love Him inherit eternal wealth. He will fill their treasuries of the heart. If you possess Christ, you've already gained everything.
