Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
Don't be corrupt when administering justice. Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly. Never give special favors to poor people, and never show preference to important people. Judge your neighbor fairly. It is not right to acquit the guilty or deny justice to the innocent. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. But those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. Like a branch that sprouts from a stump, someone from King David's family will someday be king. The Spirit of the LORD will be with him to give him understanding, wisdom, and insight. He will be powerful, and he will know and honor the LORD. His greatest joy will be to obey the LORD. This king won't judge by appearances or listen to rumors. The poor and the needy will be treated with fairness and with justice. His word will be law everywhere in the land, and criminals will be put to death. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra's den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper's nest. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the LORD. In that day the heir to David’s throne will be a banner of salvation to all the world. The nations will rally to him, and the land where he lives will be a glorious place. Jesus is King.
