Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
The outward glory of things fades away over time. Even if you shine it with effort and grease, the glory of it will diminish and be forgotten. I think about things like trophies and awards that are in boxes rusting out. I think about food that spoils and clothes that rot. In the same way, our bodies are such weaken earthen vessels. Over time it wears away, gone is the youth, vigor, and beauty we once had. As we get older though, even at an early age our inward glory needs to begin to shine. So many people depend on their outward appearance and never focused on their inward appearance. Only when something reflects from the heart does it's shine remain, even the more brighter in time. We are not like Moses. He kept covering his face with a veil. He didn't want the people of Israel to see the glory fading away. God is calling us to reflect the Lord's glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord Jesus, who is the Spirit. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day through Holy Spirit. Do not lose heart, the outward must fade away so that inner person God has called you to be shines! Greased by the hands of Christ. Your faith, your heart, and soon your body will shine the glory of God! May our outward appearance be humble enough and lead others to our inward character where Jesus is. People should want the relationship you have with Jesus
