Proverbs of a 38 yr old man
Young lions. The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. We are young lions in the LORD with Jesus as our Great Lion of Judah. If we stay in his pride we will not suffer spiritual hunger or thirst. It's the old lion that perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered. Those who trust in their own way go in there own pride eventually dying in their sins. We need the LORD Jesus to keep us alive in faith and love. The enemy of our souls is like a roaring lion devouring poor souls in this world. He wants to take young lions away from Jesus to join his prideful rebellion. How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their ravages, my precious life from these lions. Their roaring is like a lion, like young lions they roar; they growl and seize their prey; they carry it off, and none can rescue. Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. My soul is among the lions; I lie down with ravenous beasts, with men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Listen to the LORD Jesus as he roars his faithfulness to his faithful young lions. The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.” Yes, you will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
