Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Prayer for a devotional I am reading.

Father, we confess that we’re prone to be self-occupied people. We revert to selfishness without even thinking about it, so much so that we can become prisoners of our will without seeing it. But You call us to a life of freedom that isn’t bound to the self-dominated life, and You provide a way to this liberation by fasting. Please help us remember this as we allow the fasting process to refine the focus of our hearts and free us from ourselves. Amen.
