Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. A friend is there to help, in any situation, and relatives are born to share our troubles. Never abandon a friend, either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away. There are times in our lives where we need a father figure to tell us that we are covered and loved. Times where we need a brother figure to put there arm around our shoulder and bear a burden with us. Also, there are times where a mother figure is needed to remind us that everything is going to be ok, God works all things together for our good. And lastly, there are times where we need a sister figure to affirm us and remind us who we are in Christ! Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!” I say this with trembling tears: Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.
