Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
Don't be arrogant. Listen, and pay attention! Give glory to the LORD your God before it is too late. Acknowledge him before he brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and gloom. when your eyes are bad, everything is dark. If the light inside you is dark, you surely are in the dark. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. I see an ever darkening mountain with clouds bearing heavy on it. This is the person that is wise in their own eyes, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. If you do, and commit your way to the LORD. He will help you! He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Your life will be brighter than noonday; its darkness will be like the morning. Yes, your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Oh how beautiful when the Sun of Righteousness, Jesus, clears the clouds of darkness away. And all that remains is faith, hope, and love. Praise God, Light shines on the righteous, gladness on the upright in heart.
