Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
Refuse to let the world corrupt you. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. This world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. Those who use the things in this world should do so but not depend on them. It is clear that this world in its present form is passing away. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. Hear the LORD say: Look at the sky. Look at the earth below. The sky will vanish like smoke. The earth will wear out like clothing, and those who live there will die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, and my righteousness will never fail. My mercy and justice are coming soon. My salvation is on the way. My strong arm will bring justice to the nations. All distant lands will look to me and wait in hope for my powerful arm. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Amen. So let us cover ourselves with the precious oil of Holy Spirit inside and out. Examining ourselves as we are being transformed into the Image of Christ from faith to faith. Judgment starts in the house of the LORD. When we are judged by the LORD, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world. There are a lot of false prophets in this world that are deceiving even the very elect. If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Refuse to let the world corrupt you. Pure, unstained religion, according to God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer and to remain uncorrupted by this world.
