Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

Sheep among wolves. Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. Yes, Jesus said to watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Wolves love to hang around the sheep. False prophets are like wolves as they steal hearts away with speaking truth but living a lie. Anyone can write a good and heartfelt message. Anyone can speak wise words and inspire you to do great things. But gaining wisdom from godly teachers and preachers is very important to your faith and maturity. We are sent out as humble and innocent lambs among wolves who want to tear your faith and doctrine down limb by limb. We are to be shrewd as snakes though realizing that we are to look at the fruit in someone's character and life and not just blindly follow the passionate charisma of man. What they live out is more important than what they say. That is how we learn to be harmless as doves, being about receive a word and not allow someone's opinions and lifestyle to move us away from the foundation of the Gospel. Many believers are constantly tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine that comes there way. We need to be planted ourselves and deeply rooted to the obedience of Gods word, being able to bear fruit in every good work. So many hearts have received the word of God in their lives but falls by the wayside. Others receive the word but the cares and troubles of this world are like thorns and thistles that cut off the growth of spiritual fruit. Wolves don't like to see the fruit in others, they tear down peoples faith and make others worse sinners than themselves. Matt. 23:15 says what sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are! As a sheep among wolves, lets remember Jesus is our Shepherd and wolves tremble in his presence. Think about this: For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes false prophets spoke to the people of Israel. False teachers will also sneak in and speak harmful lies to you. But these teachers don't really belong to the Master who paid a great price for them, and they will quickly destroy themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.
