Proverbs of a 40 yr. man
Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! For by his great power, he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. Amen. The LORD’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over. And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. Put an end to the evil of the wicked, but establish the righteous, O righteous God who searches hearts and minds. Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the LORD tests the heart. I, the LORD, search the heart; I examine the mind to reward a man according to his way, by what his deeds deserve. I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering.
