Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
There's honey in the rock, water in the stone. Manna on the ground, no matter where you go. You don't need to worry now that you know. Everything you need the LORD will provide. Are you praying for a miracle? Are you thirsty for the living well? Only Jesus can satisfy and you will find sweetness at the mercy seat of heaven. How sweet are the words of Christ, sweeter than honey to the mouth. Child of God, eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short. Those who hate the LORD would feign obedience, and their doom would last forever. But The LORD wants to feed the hungry soul with the finest wheat. He wants to satisfy like wild honey from the rock. Our sin-sick world is a huge barren rock. The beauty is that God has promised that He will bring honey from the rock. Honey does not come from a rock. For that matter, water does not come from the rock, but it did in the Exodus. God provided water for His people from a rock. God is not confined to doing the things that are explainable. Now is the time to start living in the richness of the promises of God. There is honey there! From your stony heart will come a heart of flesh that enjoys the streams of righteousness, the rivers flowing with honey and cream. God laments over what He could have accomplished for and through His chosen people, Israel, if only they had listened to Him as He thinks back on their past. The Bible states honey represents Gods word, rest, sweetness, dominion, and salvation. Jesus is the Spiritual Rock we all drink from and soon we are to be in the Promised Land for eternity. Till then, let us continue to seek the honey of his word in our lives. He will pour spirit and life even in the most harshest of seasons. The LORD will do for us what he did for Israel in the wilderness: He found them in a desert land, in an empty, howling wasteland. He surrounded them and watched over them; he guarded them as he would guard his own eyes. Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so he spread his wings to take them up and carried them safely on his pinions. The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him. He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields. He nourished them with honey from the rock and olive oil from the stony ground. Freedom where the Spirit is, bounty in the wilderness. Power in the blood, healing in his hands. It started flowing when Jesus said it is finished! Oh how sweet it is to trust in Him the gushing rock of salvation!
