Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
There is a time to love, and there is a time to hate. Yes, may it always be the time to hate evil and to love what is good. It is so easy to coddle and tolerate sin instead of hating sin at its very core in your heart. Hate evil, O you who love the LORD! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Don’t let evil conquer you but conquer evil by doing good. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
Today, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. I will hate what the LORD hates. There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong,
and a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
