Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Wickedness never brings stability, wicked people are constantly double-minded and unstable in all they do. They fall beneath their own load of sin. This because their jealousy is like a cancer in the bones and their envy that rots the soul. Practicing sin and calling it good is killing people. God will not be mocked. You will not surely die is the lie the enemy told Adam and Eve. To know both good and evil has become a curse upon humanity. They don't have the wisdom to sustain their godless living. With every passing generation sin and death continues to destroy lives. Look, the evil man never has security. He is always worried about the cares of this world, and if sin will ever find him out. He runs in shame even when no one is chasing him. Evil hides behind the words of the wicked and their evil intentions busy the mind from anything productive. They can't wait to do what is evil in the sight of God. But the godly have deep roots and are directed with honesty. A good man’s life is different. He practices righteousness and the LORD makes him strong in integrity and peace. The good man has a strong belief in God. The good man uses his knowledge to make decisions. His emotions do not control him. When troubles come, he is confident. His peaceful heart leads to a healthy body. Jesus has given the believer a new heart and mind able to receive spirit and life from above. Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. Don't you know that evil people won't have a share in the blessings of God's kingdom? Don't fool yourselves! No one who is immoral or worships idols or is unfaithful in marriage or is a pervert or behaves like a homosexual will share in God's kingdom. Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others. Some of you used to be like that. But now the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of God's Spirit have washed you and made you holy and acceptable to God. The world says: I have the right to do anything, but do not grasp that not everything is beneficial. The world says I have the right to do anything, but do not understand that they should not be mastered by anything. The Scriptures say, "If you hear his voice today, don't be stubborn like those who rebelled in the past." Repent today and give your life to Christ. He will take you from death to life. Give you what you need for life and godliness. He has endless wisdom for righteous living and gives freely eternal life. Something sin could never do for someone in this death ridden world.
