Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Love is life. Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. Amen. We are called to speak life and share life everywhere we go. And people will see this life by our love for God and for each other. So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. Amen. The love of God in Jesus is better than life itself. His love is life! Those who believe in Him will live, even though they die. Yes, everyone who lives and believes in Jesus will never die! This is the way to have eternal life; to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. I believe that you Jesus are the Messiah, the Son of God, who has come into the world. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion; how can God’s love be in that person? Let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. For whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. So, live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. His love is the life we share everywhere we go.
