Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man

Led by the Spirit. We desperately need to be led by the Spirit and not dragged away by our own enticing desires. When we surrender our hearts and minds to the Mind of Christ we are led by the Spirit. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. Christ lives in you, though your natural body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness which He provides. Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. Jesus no longer calls us servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But He has called you and me friends, because everything He has learned from the Father, He has made known to you and me. Oh, to not be pulled by the bit and bridle of the flesh but be led by Spirit in my heart and soul! The Spirit has given us life; he must also control our lives. Walking habitually in the Holy Spirit seeking Him and being responsive to His guidance. We will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts. Our LORD Jesus was led by the Spirit all the time in His earthly ministry, how much more should we? He was led into the wilderness, and He was led to the temple courts. Even as a child Jesus was attracted to the Father's house, attracted and led to the Temple. I also think of the Apostle Peter who Jesus said would be led to places he did not want to go. “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go. ” Following the leading of Holy Spirit may not always make sense but will bring glory to God because He makes all things work together for our good as well. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God. God's Spirit doesn't make us slaves who are afraid of him. Instead, we become his children and call him our father. His Spirit lets us know that together with Christ we will be given what God has promised. We will also share in the glory of Christ, because we have suffered with him. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
