Proverbs of a 40 yr old man.

We don't want to offend people but we will offend God. God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? When God blesses no one can revoke it. When He asks for obedience He is expects devotion and endurance. But people are fickly and they change their hearts constantly. They may not want to hear the truth and because they are living in offense towards God they project that on you. So many people are living in offense towards God. If God did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others. Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse. Amen. It is better to please God and be a preacher of righteousness though you will offend some people. Than to offend God and his word and please people who will never be satisfied with you because they are living in offense against God. For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Light has come into the world and the world loved darkness instead.
