Prayer is more staying in alignment with Gods will than forcing Gods hand. Many times, when we pray our prayers are not answered because we pray just for selfish reasons. It is God’s will that you should be sanctified. Amen. So, if what we are praying for does not lead to holiness and love towards God, do we really want it? Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Amen. Our prayer life as to be filled with Spirit and Life so we can distinguish Gods will. It's hard enough to deal with our own flesh and desires, but we have an enemy of our souls that is baiting us to sin and destruction. The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. For everything in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, comes not from the Father but from the world. Jesus has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. We must read Gods word so that we can grow in the knowledge of Gods will. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
