Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

His love has the power of a hurricane. Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal. From six disasters he will rescue you; even in the seventh, he will keep you from evil. He will save you from death in time of famine, from the power of the sword in time of war. You will be safe from slander and have no fear when destruction comes. Look! The storm brings another hurricane that you have not planned for! God has allowed this wind and rain to fall on everyone though. This is a reminder always of the fresh call of repentance daily. It was about this same time Jesus was told that Pilate had given orders for some people from Galilee to be killed while they were offering sacrifices. Jesus replied: Do you think that these people were worse sinners than everyone else in Galilee just because of what happened to them? Not at all! But you can be sure that if you don't turn back to God, every one of you will also be killed. What about those people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Do you think they were worse than everyone else in Jerusalem? Not at all! But you can be sure that if you don't turn back to God, every one of you will also die. Amen. In the midst of trial and storm His love rips through people hearts to refresh and rebuild what the restless locust may have eaten. Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. Though he slay me I will trust and put my hope in Him. I will trust the pierce of His word in my heart even though it hurts. I will trust in his hand over my physical life and current circumstances though I see a stormy trial coming up ahead. Praise God! What he destroys he builds up and bring new harvest into our lives. But the enemy of our souls likes to kill, steal, and destroy leaving the sovereign judgment of God in its wake. Like Sodom and Gomorrah there is nothing God can redeem. Like the time before the Great Flood, destroy everything because the enemy has ruin the hearts of men. God saw the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he sees that everything they think or imagine is consistently and totally evil. Their future is eternal loss, for their god is their appetite: they are proud of what they should be ashamed of; and all they think about is this life here on earth. But you who have felt the power of Christs hurricane love; know that our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is; and we are looking forward to his return from there. When he comes back, he will take these dying bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer all else everywhere. Let's do our best to know the LORD. His coming is as certain as the morning sun; he will refresh us like rain renewing the earth in the springtime. For His love has the power of a hurricane. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.
