Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
The crowds pressed in. Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. Huge crowds would follow Jesus and would end up pressing him on every side. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He then told his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Today the crowds of people press in even more than before looking to hear and receive from the LORD Jesus. He is head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. Now we are Christ’s body, and individually members of it. For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. When the crowds press into Jesus they press against His Body the Church. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. On the Cross they pierced His hands and feet. His Body broken for and blood split for mankind. He is risen today and the Spirit of Christ lives in his church body. So go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received. We are His Body.
