Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Pimples on your face. If we are not daily cleaning and washing our face it will surely show through infection and pimples. Your pores will become clogged as blackheads and pimples start to surface. All it takes is for you to touch your face with your dirty hands and you will start to break out in pimples. Is this not the same with our heart and life? Daily we must be cleansing our hearts and minds in the Word. If not sin will start to surface in our lives that will bring pain and suffering. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But you must never stop looking at the perfect law that sets you free. God will bless you in everything you do, if you listen and obey, and don't just hear and forget. Amen. Jesus gave up his life for his Church to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of Gods word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. Amen. I see faces of hearts that have become stony and harsh because of neglect and the decaying power of sin and evil desire. The lack of time in the Living Word and the quenching of Holy Spirits fire with the cares of this world has made the faces of hearts hardened. And as our sins and vices start to surface in our lives we end up scaring our hearts by trying to remove the vile pus of guilt ourselves. Jesus wants to give us a new clean heart of flesh, not cared for by human hands but by the hands of the Living God! Daily He wants to renew and transform our contrite hearts into his pure heart. Who may go up the LORD's mountain? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. I will praise the LORD for he has rewarded me according to His Righteousness; He has repaid me according to the cleanness of his hands. Oh Jesus wash my heart and mind daily and keep my life blameless through the cleanliness of your hands. Yes, through your Living Word cleansing me daily.
