Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Think of others. The less you spend on yourself the more you can spend on others. You may say I don't have enough to spare or I don't have nothing at all. But you still need certain things for yourself that maybe you can do without. This will create a special margin where you can offer it to God to multiply it for his glory. Imagine the amazing things God can do through you by denying yourself and serving others! Proverbs 25:16 says Have you found honey? Eat only what you need, That you not have it in excess and vomit it. Amen. It can be more than just money where we deny ourselves and invest in others, things like time and wisdom. Yes, its treasure your investing here on earth to be stored in Heaven. Read these verses carefully and see if this is your heart for the Gospel: Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't be concerned only about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others. Amen. This is not condemnation by an exhortation to what Jesus has already done for us on the Cross. In our relationships with one another let us have the same mindset as Christ Jesus did. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. So, is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Is your heart tender and compassionate? If there is most certaintly, then honor Jesus by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. Listen softly and hear spirit and life in the words of Jesus to the rich young ruler as I close: If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
