Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

Jesus will not continue to wait for ever. He will certainly return one day. That day will come suddenly, like a thief that nobody expects. People do not expect a thief to come suddenly to their house in the middle of the night. In a similar way, Jesus will suddenly return to this world. God will not give people any more time to obey him. Instead, Jesus will come to judge them. When Jesus comes, the sky will disappear with a fierce roar. Fire will burn up the earth and everything on it. Yes, it will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. Amen. The old world with its desires will pass away, but anyone who did what pleases God will live forever. Now since the present world will end like this, we as Christians must live holy lives. We must respect and please God. Jesus will return. We must expect and eagerly wait for that day. We are looking forward to what Jesus has promised. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. Everyone who lives there will obey God’s commands. Fellow believer, I know that you are waiting for these things to happen. Therefore, work very hard to live a pure life. Make sure that nobody can blame you for any sin. Make sure that there is no trouble between you and God. For the Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. We are called by God to be fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. So, be ready and keep your lamps burning just like those servants who wait up for their master to return from a wedding feast. As soon as he comes and knocks, they open the door for him. Servants are fortunate if their master finds them awake and ready when he comes! I promise you he will get ready and let his servants sit down so he can serve them. Those servants are really fortunate if their master finds them ready, even though he comes late at night or early in the morning. You would surely not let a thief break into your home, if you knew when the thief was coming. So always be ready! You don't know when the Son of Man will come.
