Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

Anger and prayer. A quick tempered person does foolish things, there impatience will show there stupidity soon enough. Anger slays even wise men. They may be in the right but the uncontrolled wrath burns up any good work they might of had. As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife. So refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not lose your temper it only leads to harm and evil. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Anger is a fire that can be tamed with prayer and supplication to God. Instead of directing it to a certain person or situation, go before the LORD Jesus in prayer. Let Him douse your hot charcoal on our head with Living Water so you can better address the problem. Anger's fire and rage consumes everything up before you even have a chance to reason for wisdom and justice. Scripture says, Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. Amen. Go now, before the rage and the pride sets in. Go to the LORD in prayer. He is disgusted by the sacrifices of the wicked, but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable with Him. Say today: Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering. Take control of what I say, O LORD, and guard my lips. Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong. Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing oil on my head. Don’t let me refuse it. Keep me praying constantly against the wicked and their deeds. For its the kind answer that soothes angry feelings and its the harsh words stir them up. Anger and prayer, help me LORD Jesus to turn away from evil and do good; to seek peace and pursue it. To be slow to anger so that the peace of Christ can wash over me and rule in my heart and mind daily.
