Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

You need power for the Christian life. God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you; and with you, Lord, is unfailing love"; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.” Power and love go together. It is the power of Gods love that changes hearts and lives. You who love the LORD, hate evil! For He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked. Oh may you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. His unfailing love for us is powerful; the LORD’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the LORD! You need more love, more power to live out this life of faith for Christ. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Let the love of Jesus compel you and move you deeply within. For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, and enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures. living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But now we have been given a spirit of power and love and a sound mind. We have what we need for life and godliness in the love of Christ. Through his death and resurrection, we have the same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead living in us. Look, I see a power grid with new power and new mercies. A bright light that can not only shine a room but a darkened world with the power of Gods love moving in you for others. Jesus is our power source for new power and victory over sin and death in our lives. Stop trying to live from your own strength and power and stay connected to the power that raised Jesus from the dead. His grace is all you need. His power works best in weakness. So say today: I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. The power of Gods love is my strength. Not by my own strength, but by the power of the Spirit of Christ living in me! His powerful love stirs me to say I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
