Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man-Idols are everywhere series
Want to talk about robots and AI as the final piece of this series we are on. The world is obsessed with robots having AI. A modern idol fashioned in the very image of man. Unlike the idols of ancients, they can speak and mimic the ways of man. An Artificial Intelligence like never seen before in history. This type of technology can change the world many experts are saying. These robots and their elaborate internal systems created process information so much quicker than human beings can. They do things better and more efficiently than humans can. Pretty much they can do better than us in everything except morality. And that's what I want to focus on here in closing. God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. He made them ruler of the works of His Hands; He have placed everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Amen. As sin increased on the Earth after the fall of Adam and Eve. Humanity began to always distance itself from God and try to exist outside of Him. From the Great Flood of Noah to the Tower of Babel, to the great Kingdom of Babylon and Medo-Persia, to the medieval period and to the great enlightenment, and even to today have massive increase of knowledge and technology. Mankind wants to exist beyond its original identity back in Eden. Every human says sooner rather than later, I will not surely die. For God knows that in the day I eat and give myself to the knowledge of good and evil my eyes will be opened, and I will be like God, knowing good and evil. This is why humans have worshipped trinkets, statues, or images of gods. They worshipped trees, rivers, hills, stones, etc for the magical/spiritual powers they think it holds. The worship of nature. The sun, moon, and stars as supreme powers of nature. The worship of heroes or deceased ancestors. All this to pursue that hunger that is never filled from biting fruit of knowledge and evil. That is why as our knowledge increases in this world, we do not have the morality or capacity for it. We invent new ways of doing evil because we have that same deceitful heart that has scarred humanity through the generations. The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? Only God revealed in the Savior Jesus Christ. The path to the tree of life was cut off to humanity in the times of Adam and Eve. Death would come to all mankind because of the growing sin in our world. Oh, the depravity of Earth throughout the years of when the Garden of Eden use to shine on the Earth. But sin and death have reigned in this world because of the sinful hearts of man. Man chose to disobey God from the start and have ruined Gods world. Jesus came to restore this world by His death and resurrection. And this by one heart at a time no willing that any should perish but all come to eternal life. As man's heart continues to harden against God, their wisdom will consume them. They were created in Gods image and not their own. In a way robots and AI are a product of what mankind could have been through the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We have done amazing things that have helped humanity and shared the Gospel of Jesus throughout the world. But sadly, all this wisdom and knowledge has no morality tied to, just whatever the spirit of the age is. Like the atomic bomb in the wrong hands is the wisdom of man trying to gain a morality without the existence of God. I hear today the echoes from far ago during the tower of Babel: Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar[b] and settled there. They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise, we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language, they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other. "So, the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth. Amen. Will not the LORD Jesus scatter the plans of the wicked and tear down every idol and every robot created in mans image. The LORD is a jealous God, and He is coming to smashes idols and A.I. to pieces. He is claiming what has always been His, the souls of man. When Jesus returns again will He find faith on the Earth? Or will He find hearts created in their own image worshipping the god of this world? The god of themselves? The fruit of the knowledge of good and evil will leave so many desperate and hungry for real meaning and purpose found only in Jesus, the true tree of life. Look, I see people dying holding on to dead robots instead of the Living Word of God.
