Proverbs of a 41 yr old man
Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb! Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers! Do not spend your strength on women, your vigor on those who ruin kings. A woman will humiliate a man by stealing his strength. This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth and says, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong. She takes his glory and shames him before everyone. Stolen strength is sweet but bitter in the end. Many women have cloaked themselves with loneliness and distancing themselves from God and man. She has forgotten that the glory of man is a woman. She is left in chains of anger and contention. A man humiliates a woman by stealing her beauty. Once he has physically tasted and seen, he is losing the sense of awe and beauty of her. For the glory of man is God and how he treats women reflects poorly on the Image of God. Scripture calls us to treat older women as you would your mother and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters. In his unrestrained passions he leaves her naked in soul and body. He gives his strength to women and becomes a weak man. Not able to love one wife but have many lovers. He is left in chains of lust. But among the Lord’s people, women are not independent of men, and men are not independent of women. For although the first woman came from man, every other man was born from a woman, and everything comes from God. Look, I see a woman left alone with pain and scars from a domineering man. She needs Jesus to be the man to restore the beauty of her heart. I also see a man left in shame and regret from a controlling woman. Having no strength to stand on his own, he needs Jesus to affirm him and remind him of the strength of his heart. It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. For God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. Jesus can restore the hearts of men and women.
