Really, Satan doesn’t want to do battle with you. First of all, there is the strong chance you will win. Second of all, win or lose, the battle can draw you closer to the LORD. Thirdly, what the LORD does in your life through the battle can be a great blessing for other people. No, Satan would much rather not fight you at all! He would much rather try to talk you into giving up! His weapon of choice is fear. But God in Christ has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power and love and sound mind. We are people of flesh and blood. This is why Jesus became one of us. He died to destroy the devil, who had power over death. But he also died to rescue all of us who live each day in fear of dying. Amen. The enemy is a bully who wants to steal, kill, and destroy. But the righteous may fall seven times and still rise again. Greater is He who is in me than the enemy who is in this world. He will flee in seven different ways at the presence of Jesus! The LORD Jesus will fight for us. He will wrestle with us through the night and bring joy in the morning!
