Proverbs of a 41 yr old man
Cravings. The appetite for sinful desires dies out as we continually feast on God's presence. The Spirit could not strive with man until the Spirit of Christ was poured out on all man. The life of Jesus quenches the desires of the flesh but when we grieve the Spirit of Christ, we lose his power and the flesh gets stronger. To keep the flesh dead, we must daily submit our spirit to God. Knowing that the flesh is willing, but the Spirit is weak. We need Jesus to intercede for us constantly. Staying tapped into Him we can overcome this flesh, this world. He lived the perfect life so that we could live from perfect love. Making not just a moral people, but literally taking us from death to life! We carry in our bodies the life of Jesus though our bodies are of sin and decay. A living testimony to God even in our brokenness, we are being transformed into the image of God! You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering.The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. Look with favor on Zion and help her; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Amen. Rebuild my heart and mind. Make strong in faith full of Spirit and life.
