Proverbs of a 41 yr. old man
Our faith must not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Our message and preaching needs to be plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, we must rely only on the power of the Holy Spirit. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. The grace of God in Christ is sufficient for me and you, for His power is made perfect in weakness.” Let us boast all the more gladly of our weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon us. Listen, I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
