Proverbs of a 41 yr. old man

People can be holy. God calls us to pursue holiness everyday of our lives. Though we are sinners we are called to come up out of our sins, the sins that so easily beget us, and learn to walk in the newness of Christ provided for us through the Cross. We must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won't let go. And we must be determined to run this race that is ahead of us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. God's love for in Christ is so perfect having the grace we need for sanctification. We are called daily to a relationship with Jesus, living in the Light of His Presence daily. God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. We are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. Amen. This marvelous Light of Heaven that was unapproachable has now shone in hearts. Yes, For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. The power of God in Christ can be found as we live and stay in the Light of His Presence. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Yes, our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord's Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord. You are God's chosen and special people. You are a group of royal priests and a holy nation. God has brought you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Now you must tell all the wonderful things he has done. The Scriptures say, once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Amen. God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor, not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.
