Check your fervor daily. It's the temperature of our hearts we must keep hot and not grow cold. It's so easy to become lukewarm, the best way to check the temperature of your heart is through love. What if I could speak all languages of humans and even of angels? If I did not love others, I would be nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. What if I could prophesy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge? And what if I had faith that moved mountains? I would be nothing, unless I loved others. What if I gave away all that I owned and let myself be burned alive? I would gain nothing, unless I loved others. Amen. Do all things with love. That is how you stay hot for God and others. To be cold is to be so dead in sin with no repentance in sight. Only sorrow and regret that leads to delusion and rebellion. Let love be the ignitor of our faith and hope every day. You can love because He loved us first. Even when we are faithless and hopeless, Christ's love never fails. First love fire can last a lifetime! The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. Amen. So, let us hone His holy fire in us, being a living hot sacrifice daily. LORD Jesus don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. By the power of your love in me I will not let any part of my body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, I will give myself completely to you Jesus, for I was dead, but now I have new life. I will use my whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God! Your love for me is my fire for spiritual fervor! Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. You are my fire in the darkness and the Light of my heart.
