Proverbs of a 41 yr old man

Whoever corrects a mocker receives abuse. Whoever warns a wicked person gets hurt. So don’t bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you. Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels. Amen. This is the LORD telling the prophet Ezekiel to speak plainly to the people of Israel before there total captivity to Babylon. For him to speak the truth of God's word and call them to repentance. What's interesting is that God knew they would not listen to Ezekiel. But the LORD still wanted Ezekiel to stand for the truth and had him do different physical illustrations. One of the hardest things we face as Christians is to be a light when everyone is loving the darkness. It's one thing for people to disagree with you, but it's another thing when people make threats and curse you for standing on the word of God. Ezekiel 2: 7-8 You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious! Son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not join them in their rebellion. Open your mouth, and eat what I give you.” Amen. The LORD will give us the words to say if we are hiding his word in our hearts daily. The Holy Spirit will give us the strength to share the truth of God's word in love. There are people God has in our lives that we are to testify and live out the truth before them, even if they think we are foolish and in error. We stand as a light before them, not to condemn but bear witness. God has called us to be a watchmen over his nations. Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.
