Proverbs of a 41 yr old man
I see a baby Christian leaving the Cross feeling confident in themselves. Almost like the prodigal son who asked for his full inheritance. Later in the day he came limping back to the Cross after falling seven times. Defeated and ashamed he was astonished to see someone seasoned and someone he looked up to at the Cross. He asked this seasoned Christian why are you here at the Cross, don't you have the victory already? The seasoned Christian with grace in his eyes said, I die daily at the Cross. I boast in nothing else by Jesus. The baby Christian was humbled thinking he had done enough to receive God's grace. He then kneeled next to the seasoned Christian, and they clung to the Cross for strength and help. Amen. You must fear the LORD your God and worship him and cling to him. The Cross has the final word over everything. Let us keep the Cross before us as we walk by faith in this world. As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.
